It has been observed that a large number of websites are being compromised by a fake CAPTCHA scam. The visitor to a site is shown what appears to be a normal “Verify you are human” checkbox.
However, instead of solving a CAPTCHA (such as selecting images) they are instructed to press keys such as Windows +R or Win X, Ctr +V and Enter. These steps place a malicious command on to the clipboard and malware is executed.
If you encounter a site that asks you to follow the key stroke steps similar to the image above. Please DO NOT proceed. Close the browser and inform Information Security.
